In the final days of the Mayan civilization, Jaguar Paw lives a peaceful life as a young hunter in a remote jungle village, with his pregnant wife and young son. That world is shattered when raiders attack his village at dawn, killing many and taking the survivors captive. Before he is captured, Jaguar Paw manages to hide his family in a deep pit. He is marched with the other prisoners to a grand Mayan city, where he sees a society in decline and is destined for sacrifice. As his fate closes in, a sudden turn gives him a chance to escape, and he runs back through the jungle with his captors in pursuit. His family is trapped and time is running out, so he must use all his skills as a hunter to survive and reach them before it’s too late.
