Decoding Animal Culture

What if culture isn’t just a human trait? Across the planet, scientists are discovering that animals pass down learned behaviors from one generation to the next, from the songs they sing and the tools they use to the ways they hunt, migrate and raise their young. As researchers decipher this wide range of behaviors, a new picture emerges of how culture shapes animal societies and plays a vital role in the survival of entire species. Join us for the first series to document animal culture on a global scale, and discover how much of what we thought was uniquely human is shared with the rest of the natural world.
