In the Line of Fire (1993) is a classic action thriller that throws together two iconic actors, Clint Eastwood and John Malkovich, in a tense game of cat and mouse. Eastwood portrays Frank Horrigan, a seasoned Secret Service agent burdened by a past mistake. Years ago, he failed to protect President John F. Kennedy during his assassination, and the guilt continues to weigh heavily on him.

Now, Frank finds himself assigned to protect the current president. However, this seemingly routine assignment takes a dramatic turn when a dangerous threat emerges. Frank must confront Mitch Leary (John Malkovich), a cunning and highly intelligent former CIA agent with a twisted obsession. Leary has a personal vendetta against the president and is determined to eliminate him.

As Leary meticulously plans his assassination attempt, Frank works tirelessly to anticipate his every move. The film delves into the psychological battle between the two men, with Frank haunted by his past failure and Leary fueled by his obsessive desire for revenge.
