When Dave is sidelined by an accident, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore are sent to live with Dave's cousin Toby and enrolled in public school for the first time. There, they cross paths with their most surprising rivals yet: The Chipettes — Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor — a talented trio of singing chipmunks managed by the ambitious and scheming Ian Hawke, Dave's old nemesis. As the two groups compete for the spotlight at a school talent show meant to save the music program, sibling squabbles, budding rivalries, and a battle-of-the-bands showdown put the Chipmunks' bond to the test — all while they try to figure out how to get along, get famous, and get Dave back.
